Sutton Bridge Seniors' Open Wednesday 9th August
We were blessed with one of the finest days of the year so far and the course was in fine condition. There were forty four competitors.
As usual, the Open is a two ball better ball stableford competition with groups of four going out from 9 a.m.
onwards. The ladies section ran the raffle ticket sales and also the halfway house which made a welcome break for
refreshments. The event was sponsored by Leesons Garage and prizes were presented by John Cooper the M.D.
The raffle prizes were donated by Sutton Bridge members with a good result of £410 for the two nominated charities
which were: Cancer research UK and the Royal British Legion. The RBL also supplied flags for the greens for the day
which were arranged by Andy Hyde along with a donation from Henry Smith. Bacon Rolls and coffee for all competitors to
start and a two course meal provided by George and the staff.
The competition organisers would like to thank all involved, especially the volunteers, for a very successful day.
Prizes were awarded down to fourth place along with nearest the pin prizes on two holes as follows:
