Colne Golf Club is a picturesque 9-hole private members club situated on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, midway between Burnley and Skipton.  It has a membership of approximately 200 and we are seeking to employ a bar steward and appoint a franchised caterer.

Job Purpose:

Bar Staff that work for West Kent Golf Club are an integral part of the front of house operation. They are specifically responsible for delivering a first-class service by setting up and supervising the bar on a daily basis and during events, dealing with a wide range of customers and functions. Shift patterns will vary.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • To open and close the bar daily for general use and events, ensuring that staff and stock are organised for cost effective and efficient service
  • Ensure that licensing objectives are upheld
  • Maintaining a smart appearance, following uniform regulations.
  • Establishing customer requirements and dispensing beverages/ snacks promptly and efficiently, in a hygienic way.
  • Informing customers of additional bar services such as food ordering and upcoming events, resolving minor queries and customer complaints.
  • To have thorough product knowledge to ensure customers are helped with their order.
  • To ensure that beverages are served to the correct specification i.e. that the correct measures are observed and the correct glass is used.
  • To follow the correct opening and closing procedures and to assist the House Manager in delegating jobs.
  • To ensure that adequate stock and equipment is available before and during service.

This private member’s club, established in 1895 is situated in a busy location in the West Midlands, 100 yards from M5 Junction 1. The golf club has great potential to attract new business with outside functions and has significantly increased its presence in this area within the last 6 months.

The club has over 500 members and we hold numerous private functions throughout the year including Weddings, Funeral Wakes and Conferences. It also completes calendars of competitions and social events our lounge area can accommodate up to 100 guests. We also have 5 recognised teams with over 60 home matches.

  

Applicants should be able to provide a range of catering activities including:

Hale Golf Club is a private members club founded in 1903 with some 500 members. Situated in the affluent area of South Trafford, approximately ten miles south of Manchester city centre, the Club has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its food, the standard of the course and for having a welcoming and friendly environment with a thriving social programme. The club house has recently been extended and refurbished providing more space and capacity for events. 

Having recently successfully appointed a new Clubhouse Manager, the club is now looking to appoint a new Head Chef with a proven track record in catering management, preferably at a private members’ club or successful restaurant, and who has banqueting experience.

The candidate will often work alone fulfilling day to day catering needs, but will also be expected to manage a small team in the kitchen on larger occasions.

The successful candidate will be passionate about food and have a proven ability to create & deliver a consistently high level of catering, ranging from snack menu food to gourmet evenings. The chef will also be capable of producing menus tailored to requests, as well as having the originality to create menus for the many social occasions the club puts on.

The candidate will be responsible for kitchen purchases and recording stock levels, for the maintenance of all machinery, equipment, fixtures & fittings within the kitchen and store areas and most importantly hygiene and health and safety. The chef will therefore be up-to-date with all statutory & local government regulations, particularly health & safety, kitchen hygiene (maintaining the current 5* rating) and allergen documentation.

The nature and seasonality of the role will mean that the Head Chef will need to be able to work flexibly but not less than on average 40 hours a week.

Copthorne Golf Club is a busy private members’ club established in 1892. Situated in West Sussex between the towns of Crawley and East Grinstead, the club has excellent transport links, being just five minutes from the M23, 15 minutes from Gatwick airport and 20 minutes from Junction 7 of the M25.

The Club has 500 members and operates a busy calendar of competitions and matches, as well as having a thriving social golf scene.

The Management Committee has chosen to re-tender its franchise catering agreement and invites applications from companies or individuals with a keen interest in providing high quality food and service. Catering services include a full and varied bar snack menu, as well as function catering for up to 120 people. At present, most catering is golf-related but the Management Committee is keen to engage a caterer who is able to use their initiative to drive new business and increase turnover. Current turnover (exclusive of VAT) is approximately £150,000, with casual bar sales constituting approximately 40%.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• A proven track record in catering, ideally in a private members’ club environment; • Outstanding customer service;

• High standards of food preparation and service;

• Excellent cost control to ensure value for money for members; and

• A flexible approach centred around the needs of the members.
