Baildon Golf Club was established in 1896 and is conveniently situated on the edge of Baildon village providing easy access for Baildon residents and those living in Leeds and Bradford 

 

 The club has a busy annual golfing and social calendar for club members and non members.It provides a facility that’s attractive to visitors both for golf and functions. The building was originally used by the water company before the club acquired it to use as its green keepers shed.

 

As time and runaway costs made the old clubhouse a liability the decision was taken to convert the green keepers building into a new clubhouse. The project wasn’t easy but was completed in February 2019 when the new club was opened.

 

In recognition of its former use we decided to call the building The Waterworks at Baildon Golf Club. 

 

The club operates a relaxed dress code, welcomes walkers , dog walkers and actively encourages non members to use the bar and catering facilities.

  

We are looking to maximise the usage of the clubhouse, to reflect our reputation as one of the most welcoming and friendliest clubs in West Yorkshire 

The clubhouse has a main lounge with bar and kitchen on the ground floor.

At first floor there is a small members lounge and committee room.

 

All parts of the club can be hired out to members and non members. At present we are running yoga classes on a Friday morning and a 6 week starters Jive class on a Tuesday evening in addition to the usual club events and weekend functions.

For large functions , up to 80 people ,we would use both the ground and first floor areas. The ground floor lounge can cater for up to 40 people for a formal meal.

 

We are seeking a forward thinking, self-motivated person or couple looking to work with us to develop the tremendous potential of the club with both the food and beverage service. This is an excellent opportunity to work with Baildon Golf Club on a Franchisee basis. The club will retain the responsibility for and income from the bar service.

The club will make a charge of £75 a week to cover the running costs of the Franchise in terms of gas, electricity etc.

 

Ideally, the successful candidates would be able to demonstrate the following:

 

* A proven track record in catering management, preferably at a members’ club or successful restaurant

* The ability to create and deliver a consistently high standard of catering

* The ability to prepare high quality food ranging from bar menus with specials, Sunday lunches, team matches, club social functions, themed dining evenings as well as  member and non-member private functions/celebrations

* Staff management - recruitment, staff rotas and HR

* Financial acumen - cash and card payments

* Communication skills, high focus on customer service and the ability to respond positively to challenges

*The ability to work alongside our current pool of staff and club management

* Flexibility in the hours of service

* Health and Safety and food hygiene experience along with up to date certification, we will expect you to obtain a level 5 hygiene rating.

 

It would be beneficial to have some understanding of a golf club environment, but this is not essential.

Colne Golf Club is a picturesque 9-hole private members club situated on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, midway between Burnley and Skipton.  It has a membership of approximately 200 and we are seeking to employ a bar steward and appoint a franchised caterer.

 

We have a busy golfing calendar and are looking to further develop our social events.  We also cater for a range of outside events including Weddings, Christenings, Celebrations, Birthdays and Funeral Wakes.

Wortley is a parkland course near to Sheffield, Barnsley and Huddersfield we are in our 125th year and currently have over 550 members.

Job Purpose:

Bar Staff that work for West Kent Golf Club are an integral part of the front of house operation. They are specifically responsible for delivering a first-class service by setting up and supervising the bar on a daily basis and during events, dealing with a wide range of customers and functions. Shift patterns will vary.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • To open and close the bar daily for general use and events, ensuring that staff and stock are organised for cost effective and efficient service
  • Ensure that licensing objectives are upheld
  • Maintaining a smart appearance, following uniform regulations.
  • Establishing customer requirements and dispensing beverages/ snacks promptly and efficiently, in a hygienic way.
  • Informing customers of additional bar services such as food ordering and upcoming events, resolving minor queries and customer complaints.
  • To have thorough product knowledge to ensure customers are helped with their order.
  • To ensure that beverages are served to the correct specification i.e. that the correct measures are observed and the correct glass is used.
  • To follow the correct opening and closing procedures and to assist the House Manager in delegating jobs.
  • To ensure that adequate stock and equipment is available before and during service.
