An exciting opportunity has arisen for a live in Food Beverage and Clubhouse Manager at Southwick Park Golf Club.  Situated in the beautiful South Hampshire countryside surrounding Southwick Lake, we have over 650 members and the clubhouse is friendly and welcoming with a spacious bar, dining room and skittle alley, plus a grab & go café in our Pro Shop, with further opportunity and potential to serve food and drinks in our recently opened golf swing simulator room.

 

We wish to appoint an experienced Food, Beverage and Clubhouse Manager with a professional and positive attitude, to take responsibility and further improve the day-to-day running of the clubhouse facilities, ensuring a high class hospitality experience for members, guests and visitors.  Essential attributes include the ability to manage all aspects of clubhouse services and to increase revenue and profit margins, whilst controlling costs.

 

Applicants should have experience in the management of bar and catering services, preferably in a golf club environment, have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide a high-quality professional service. 

 

Reporting to the Club Manager, the successful candidate will-

* Play an integral part in the Clubs’ management team

* Maintain and improve our thriving reputation and enhance the Clubhouse experience of members and visitors

* Ensure the smooth running and efficient operation of the day to day food and beverage activities within the clubhouse and grab and go café

* Maintain high standards in all areas of the Clubhouse and surrounding area.

* Ensure the Clubhouse and equipment maintenance (including the kitchen) and security are carried out.

* Fulfil all regulatory compliance, including H&S and food hygiene records.

* Manage staff recruitment and performance management to build and manage a team dedicated to achieving excellent customer service and guest hospitality

* Operate within the management budgets as agreed by the Board of Directors

* Generate a Business Plan designed to maximise the business and identify additional opportunities to improve revenue and customer experience.

* Live onsite and be a key holder, responsible for locking/unlocking the site.

Opening, closing and security of the clubhouse as required by the opening hours

Thoroughly clean the clubhouse as part of the agreed franchise

 

Accommodation is provided on the first floor of the Clubhouse. This will be refurbished and is available on an unfurnished basis for the successful candidates.

Newark Golf Club is seeking a suitably qualified caterer to enter into a franchise agreement to provide the catering services for the Club. This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic and pro-active candidate(s), ideally with a proven track record of managing Club catering.

Newark Golf Club is a private member’s club, established in 1901, situated on the border of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. Our venue is a regular host of County golf events, as well as numerous well attended Open Competitions annually. We are an all year-round golf club, with a course that copes extremely well on occasions of poor weather. There are many Club Competitions and several social events in our calendar each year with our thriving membership.

The Club has over 500 members and has a Public License, so scope is available for attracting new business including, but not limited to, weddings, parties and business meetings. The Clubhouse has a large lounge and dining room with panoramic views over the Golf Course and capacity for approximately 100 covers for dining.

Previous Golf Club catering experience would be an advantage, but more importantly, the successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver an excellent and varied dining experience for both the members and visitors alike, ranging from bar snacks to large dinners and functions.

Broadly, Newark Golf Club is seeking a Franchisee to deliver the following services;

 

  • Operation of the Clubhouse as a daily facility to offer Food & Beverage provision to members. (Including visiting societies and large groups).
  • Scope of added services that the Franchisee can operate may include weddings, funerals, parties or business meetings. Additional services to be agreed with the Board on an ad-hoc basis
  • Operation of Clubhouse so as to maintain member access to the Locker Rooms and for them to be kept fully serviceable.
  • Co-operation with Club Representatives to accommodate visitor’s requirements.
  • Organisation of Club Nights and internal Draws / Charity Nights.
  • Operation of the Halfway House, to include cleaning and managing.

Regulatory compliance, including H&S risk assessments and food hygiene records

Day-to-day management of all House staff, including Chef and gardener
