Following a recent restructure of the Food & Beverage Department and plans for a refurbishment of our Clubhouse, Preston Golf Club are looking for an experienced Food and Beverage Manager to play an important part in our exciting long-term plans to develop the Club.

 

Preston Golf Club has one of the largest and active Memberships in the region, the role will be to manage and ensure delivery of an efficient day-to-day operation of the Club’s services and maintenance of the Clubhouse infrastructure.
 

* Reporting directly to the General Manager, liaising with Department Heads and working closely with the various Committee members, the ideal candidate will have excellent customer care skills, a genuine interest in food & beverage and the following: -

* Three years previous experience as a Food & Beverage Manager, ideally with catering experience. A candidate with assistant manager experience may be considered.

* Experience working in high-end hotels/venues/clubs.

* Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a clear eye for and strong attention to detail.

* Experience of organising and managing functions, the ability to remain calm under pressure, lead, and work as part of a team and on one's own initiative.

* To be flexible and available Monday to Sunday (working a 5-day week) and be present on duty to facilitate all major Club social and golfing events.

* IT literacy including Microsoft Office and EPOS systems.

* Be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have experience in coaching and delivering training.

* Essential people management skills, build trust and be able to motivate and empower others.

* Budget and cost management skills.

 

This exciting role is the main liaison with our Members, Committees and Golf Event Organisers at an operational level at our Club. You will have the skills to have a strong management presence and have the ability to work and develop a team to deliver the high standards expected at the Club.

Preston Golf Club are currently seeking an experienced Full Time Chef who is passionate and practiced in the delivery of a range of food offerings to join our team. Founded in 1923 and celebrating our Centenary next year, King's Lynn Golf Club moved to its present, idyllic location in 1975, with the course being the first to be designed by the acclaimed Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas partnership and has now matured into a magnificent challenge, considered by golfers and golf writers alike, to be one of the finest and most scenic inland courses in East Anglia.
 

The tree lined, 18-hole, par 72 course is challenging, because the fairways look narrow. The key to a good round is being straight off the tee. It is never the same from one day to the next, as the whirling wind conditions make each hole set up differently from round to round. The Role:

We are looking to recruit a proactive, hands-on Bar & Catering Manager to lead our clubhouse team.

The Bar & Catering manager will ensure the efficient day-to-day running of clubhouse services, with the role being critical in maintaining a welcoming, first-class experience in the clubhouse.

 

They must engage with all Club employees, members and visitors to ensure that consistently high levels of service are maintained at all times.

 

Responsible to - The Club General Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Hospitality

* Set service standards in the clubhouse, delivering a friendly, courteous and proactive bar and catering service to all Club members and visitors.

* Monitor and uphold bar and catering service standards to ensure they are being met.

* Manage and welcome Golf Societies and other visitors, making sure that they are aware of arrangements made for them and of the Club’s dress rules.

* Proactively liaise with event organisers to determine finer details for events (final numbers, dietary requirements etc.),

* Regularly review processes and procedures, to ensure continual service improvement.

* Continually review bar and catering menus.

 

Staff Management

* Manage the clubhouse food & beverage staff, including staffing levels, recruitment, training, performance, discipline and annual reviews.

* Work closely with the Head Chef in relation to all Club, Golf Society or corporate functions, to ensure delivery of exceptional service and food.

* Organise staff rotas to ensure suitable staff cover is present at all times.

 

Cellar and Bar

* Manage the cellar and maintain bar stocks, purchasing stocks at competitive prices, consistent with good value and timely delivery.

* Ensuring that stocks are available for inspection by the Club’s stock taker on a regular basis.

* Ensure regular line cleaning is undertaken to uphold the quality of the drinks provided.

 

Health and Safety

* Create and maintain an active action plan to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.

* Ensure that Health and Safety at Work policies and procedures are followed in the Clubhouse.

* Perform weekly and monthly Health and Safety inspections on the clubhouse and bar to check compliance and identify/remedy issues needing attention.

 

Suppliers

* Manage suppliers to optimise profitability and keep correct stock levels.

* Recommend changes to service levels and/or suppliers where product/performance is unsatisfactory and/or a better value supplier can be identified.

 

House Maintenance

* Ensure cleaning is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness throughout Club premises.

* Maintain the clubhouse, patio, storage areas and immediate surroundings (including showers and locker room areas) in a clean and tidy condition throughout the day.

* Ensure that outside storage facilities, including buggy charging standing area, dustbins and recycle bins are kept in a clean and tidy condition throughout the day.

* Ensure that clubhouse heating and ventilation systems are working properly.

* Maintain strict security of the clubhouse, including daily opening and closing times laid down by the Club Committee.

* Conduct regular inspections of clubhouse fixtures, fittings and equipment, furnishings and fabrics and report any matters arising to the General Manager.

* Conduct regular inspections of the clubhouse surrounds, car parks and all outdoor lighting and report any matters arising to the General Manager.

 

Meetings and Events

* Support the General Manager, catering and office staff, and Committees in organising meetings and events in the clubhouse where bar and catering services are required.

* Ensure that all event costs are correctly charged.

* To hold regular departmental meetings and ensure relevant product knowledge communicated to all staff.

 

 

The role of Bar and Catering Manager presents a real opportunity for the right person to manage, promote and develop clubhouse services across the membership, reporting to the General Manager, within a progressive and friendly environment.

 

The Bar and Catering Manager will be an ambassador for the Club’s food and drink services, a representative for the Club to members and visitors and a role model for how service will be co-ordinated by team members.

 

The Club is open 7 days a week and it is expected that you will work 40 hours per week, being flexible with regard to days and times. Evenings and weekends will form part of the standard working week.

 

2nd Chef

Eaton pursues excellence in all aspects of our Golf Club and is currently seeking to further develop its catering ability.   We are looking for an enthusiastic caterer/team to enter into a franchise agreement in order to provide a full catering service for our well established private members club based just outside of the village of Waverton which is just South of Chester.

 

The Club has circa 600 members, a large lounge and a dining room that can be linked to serve around 120 diners for a function.   Additionally, there is a substantial patio area where members, visitors and guests can enjoy a drink and eat outside.

  

The successful candidate(s) will:

* Be passionate about quality food and great customer service

* Have a desire to grow a profitable catering business

* Develop standard menus along with bespoke menus to cater for a broad range of events from breakfast services, bar meals, carveries, to formal dining.

Hindley Hall Golf Club is seeking applications from suitable persons to run the catering facilities at the club.  Hindley Hall is a warm and friendly club, in a beautiful parkland setting, located on the outskirts of Wigan. The club has 350 members and provides hospitality for social functions, weddings and celebrations, wakes, inter-club matches and society bookings.

 

The club has excellent kitchen facilities, and we are looking for an experienced business partner/team to run the catering services and who are keen to work closely with the club management to develop the catering offer and to maximise the facilities for our mutual benefit.

 

The primary day to day catering requirement is for “snack” type meals which are served in the bar areas which can accommodate 50/60 people on a standard day.  However, we have a dedicated dining room seating 40 covers and a patio area with 30/40 seating for fair weather dining.  The main room can be converted to a formal setting for celebrations for up to 100 people.

 

It would be beneficial, though not essential, to have some understanding of golf clubs and their traditions, but equally important is to provide flexibility in the hours of service, excellent customer service and to have a hands-on approach. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with all current food safety standards and other applicable hospitality regulations. They will also be responsible for employing all the catering staff and the ordering of all provisions/supplies and ancillary services required to run a successful operation.

* Monitor, analyse and report on weekly & monthly P&L accounts against the budgeted income and expenditure. 

* Recommend changes to service levels and/or suppliers where product/performance is unsatisfactory and/or a better value supplier can be identified.

 

House Maintenance

 

* Ensure the cleaning contractors maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the club premises.

* Maintain the clubhouse and immediate surroundings (including showers and locker room areas) in a clean and tidy condition throughout the day.

* Ensure a sufficient supply of laundered towels in both the members and visitors areas

* Ensure that the rear of the clubhouse, including external beer standing area, dustbins and recycle bins are kept in a clean and tidy condition throughout the day.

* Ensure satisfactory arrangements for the club’s laundry requirements.

* Ensure that the clubhouse’s heating and ventilation systems are working properly.

* Maintain strict security of the clubhouse, including its daily opening and closing times laid down by the Committee.

* Carry out regular inspections of the clubhouse fixtures, fittings and equipment, furnishings and fabrics and report any matters arising to the General Manager.

* Carry out regular inspections of the clubhouse surrounds car parks and all outdoor lighting and report any matters arising to the General Manager.

Meetings and Events

The Bar & Clubhouse Manager, reporting to the General Manager, will be responsible for all Bar and Clubhouse operations on a daily basis, essentially being the face of these operations with a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:

 

To manage the Bar & Clubhouse Team, responsible for the staff rotas ensuring adequate cover for bar service and table waiting, as well as kitchen duties. 

 
Leading by example to encourage up-selling from the bar and the promotion of upcoming events.

 

To be hands on with bar and cellar duties ensuring regular line cleaning is undertaken.
Maintaining a strong and highly visible respectful presence with the membership and guests.

 

Manage the drinks and snack suppliers and oversee deliveries and stock levels for the bar operation.


Maintain the stock system, process invoices for all bar items and ensure the daily till reconciliations are accurate.

 

Responsible for the clubhouse maintenance and immediate surrounds (including locker rooms and showers) checking fixtures and fittings as well as the maintenance and servicing of equipment, including the heating system.

 

To act as a vital communication link with all staff and close coordination with the office in relation to diary events, functions and matches. 


Manage and welcome societies and other visitors.  Ensure that all event costs are correctly charged as per the internal planner and liaise with the Office should there be any discrepancies.

 

It would be beneficial if you hold a Personal Licence and follow licensing regulations and expected that you also follow health & safety and food hygiene regulations

 

The Bar and Clubhouse Manager should be seen as a role model and will remain professional, well-groomed, calm and approachable at all times.
