The Pro Shop at Swaffham Golf Club
NEW PROFESSIONAL and GOLF MANAGER at SWAFFHAM GOLF CLUB
Alan Wright, formerly from Northamptonshire, has now been appointed as the Golf Manager and Golf Professional at Swaffham Golf Club. He comes to a new role, which incorporates responsibility for all the golf activities at the Club, including sales and marketing, communications and all promotional aspects of the many events. His selection emerged from more than 40 applicants, ranging from near and far.
He brings a strong reputation as a highly qualified PGA Professional Coach and he will be maximising this potential with Members and Visitors, with a special interest in the younger golfers though Schools and Junior Golf Development programmes. The Club has plans to incorporate an Academy teaching facility on the practice range, which will also be open to non-Members and will offer introductory activities for new players, of any age.
The shop and office premises at the Club have been refurbished and restyled to incorporate all Reception and business facilities within one domain. Alan’s role will include responsibility for the staging and presentation of the Charity and larger volume events scheduled at the Club, as well as being closely involved with all the Club’s events and activities.
His arrival coincides with new Membership categories being introduced and a positive welcome for visitors. These will be vigorously promoted through the Club’s web site, featuring such as ‘off peak’ reduced Green Fees and encouraging Members to introduce their guests at preferential terms.
The developments form new horizons for the Club, which will be all important in today’s competitive golf market place. The well received course refurbishments and upgrades, support this endeavour and generate confidence for Alan Wright’s future in Swaffham.
He will also become an active participant in professional tournaments across Norfolk and East Anglia, especially when there are opportunities to involve the Members, in such as Pro/Ams and in support of Charities.
