British Open 2016

The BPPA has announced relevant hotel information and entry details for the first British Open, scheduled for August 2016.

Friday 19th Aug. - Practice day and Matchplay event p.m. (as at the European Strokeplay Championship)

Saturday 20th Aug. - 36 holes

Sunday 21st Aug. - 18 holes.

Fenchurch Street to Dagenham 20mins (c2c line to Dagenham Dock)

The competition committee will have limited availability to arrange transfers but will be on hand to ensure all competitors and spectators get to their destinations on time. For convenience a couple of local taxi numbers are:

During the weekend, each hotel will be sent the draw sheets so all players are aware of the tee times and scores.

London as we all know is a vibrant city with numerous attractions to suit all taste, to name but a few:

London Eye , Tate Modern , Madame Tussauds, Tower of London, British Museum, Olympic Park Stratford, Buckingham Palace, Numerous Premier league football stadiums, Oxford street.

If this is your first time in London have the time a trip to London would be a great addition to your pitch and putt weekend.

For those who like to shop there are three major shopping centres accessible by public transport:

Lakeside Thurrock

Bluewater Dartford

Westfield Stratford.

Finally for any Towie (The Only Way Is Essex) fans, the Club made famous by the show Sugar Hut is a 25 mins taxi drive away in Brentwood.

Saturday night there will be a gathering with entertainment, in the hope that all players can attend and have a good night together. The full details of this will be announced closer to the time

It gives us great pleasure to announce the First British international Open. This Open will be played at the Dagenham Pitch and Putt course, Essex, date Aug 19th-21st 2016.

Entries should be sent to: stevejohn_deeble@yahoo.com.au or through the competition Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/525000741012342/. You will receive confirmation that your entry has been accepted and an updated list of participants will be posted on the Facebook page on a regular basis. Contact number: John Deeble 07889 252 662.

The competition will be limited to 124 participants, which entries taken on a first come basis. The committee will encourage participants from all organisations.

Sunday 21st Closing Ceremony 14.30 estimated (weather permitting)

Players travelling from abroad should reserve flights for late Sunday evening or Monday, Airports: Stanstead (45mins), Gatwick (45mins), London City (25mins), Southend (45 mins). Estimated travel time driving given in ( ).

Entry fee for all players £60, this includes green fees, lunches on 20th & 21st and a Polo shirt.
