While the tee is parallel to the 2nd, the change in angle means the player hits more directly down the hole. This can help avoid the ditch and out of bounds which run up the left of the fairway.
The tee shot plays slightly longer than from the 2nd, however the green should be reachable with three solid shots.
To tame the green, it is crucial to approach from the left half of the fairway and once on the green, be careful to read the pace and borrows.
