The views from the course are quite spectacular, with Longridge Fells and Waddington providing the backdrop to Stonyhurst College and Mitton Church. To the east is Pendle Hill, scene of many witch trials so legend states.

Sheringham is a Private Members Club located on the North Norfolk Coast. With over 700 members and an annual F&B turnover of £240,000, the Club’s F&B department is of significant value to the continued growth and security of the Club. The Club is 125 years old and offers many variations of catering and social events ranging from the small golf society to large weddings, the Club is looking to raise the profile of its F&B department to the same standard as the Course in order to further improve its facilities and reputation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To manage all Food & Beverage service outlets, which include the bar/lounge, restaurant, and HWH (Halfway House) to achieve qualitative/quantitative goals and ensure guest/member satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, develop and manager all F& B staff in conjunction with the General Manager and Club policy.

  • Ensures that all legal responsibilities and policies and procedures relating to the operation of the Food & Beverage department are enforced and implemented appropriately, including personnel management, sanitation, food preparation and storage, alcoholic beverage service, cash and credit card processing, and health and safety.
  • To create and develop menus and prices, in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Responsible for all food, beverage and supply purchases maximising corporate agreed supplier contracts.
  • Responsible for controlling food, beverage, and labour costs by accurately planning needs for supplies and staffing.
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory and waste controls.
  • Recommend equipment to be used and is responsible for the proper selection of all food and beverage products in accordance with Club standards and purchasing guidelines.
  • Solicits and handles guest/member inquiries, comments, suggestions and concerns to provide answers or determine solutions.  Follows up with guests/members to ensure satisfaction.
  • Conducts staff meetings with and post notices for co-workers to communicate goals, events and any changes to policy and/or procedure.
  • Complete various financial reports and budgets to keep management informed of goals and status, and to aid in making effective business decisions.
  • Achieve Gross Margin targets agreed with the General Manager.
  • Maintains knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.
  • Personal licensee holder and First Aid Qualifications desirable

  • A full restaurant service for members and non-members, offering freshly prepared food benefitting from the premium venue;

THE CANDIDATE:

Applicants must have experience of working in the Leisure and Hospitality industry (preferably in a Golf Club environment) and be of an outgoing nature with a firm focus on Customer service. Knowledge of the game of golf is a benefit but not essential. A competency in stocktaking, price analysis and an ability to communicate clearly both up and down the organisation are essential.

Woodhall Hills Golf Club is a friendly, private members club, situated in Calverley, Leeds.

The Club was established in 1905 and has 430 playing members in various categories.

The Club is now offering a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious individual to take on the role of our Catering Franchise.  An understanding of golf club catering is highly desirable. The candidate must be able to offer competitive pricing and have the ability to provide everything from daily bar snacks/lunch menu for members & visitors through to inter-club match meals, multi-course evening dinners for members and non-member functions, and a variety of buffet options for the wide range of functions that we host.

Bar Manager

The Bar manager must have a lively, out-going personality, excellent staff-management and communication skills, a flexible approach to working hours and the drive to provide the best possible service to our members and guests.

They will be responsible for driving sales, reviewing products and offering promotions with a view to optimising profitability of the bar.

This is a “hands on” role and you will be expected to take control and accountability for the clubhouse and bar area under the direction of the Managing Secretary, always aiming to exceed hospitality standards with both service and the quality of drink and clubhouse presentation.

The roles would ideally suit a couple with the ability and ambition to develop a successful business opportunity and to provide a first class service to our members and guests.

Elton Furze is a Proprietor owned Golf Club set just 4 miles west of Peterborough City Centre in Cambridgeshire. The Clubhouse, bar and restaurant have 180 degree views overlooking the golf course.
