Ryston Park Golf Club – Charity Presentation

The Charity chosen by both the Captain and the Lady Captain of Ryston Park Golf Club this year was the Norfolk Hospice – Tapping House.

Various events during the course of the year helped to raise the sum of £3,400 and a cheque for this amount was presented to Dianne Rowe, Director of Fund Raising for the Norfolk Hospice.

Thanks are due to both committees for their support and to all who helped to raise this money. Pictured at the presentation at Ryston Park are (left to right): Liz Forgan, Dianne Rowe, Pam Brooke (Lady Captain), Paul Allen (Captain) and Greta Good.

John plays a round at his age!

In the 2009 September Medal former Norfolk County President and former Ryston Park Golf Club Captain and President John Alflatt achieved the rare distinction of playing to his age. His gross score of 81 (net 69) was the second time that John has matched his age in competition, the previous occasion being in 2002.

The most recent score is all the more remarkable as John has just returned to golf after a fairly lengthy break because of injury.

John said after his round that he felt his score was made easier by the fact that the course was in the best condition he could remember in more than sixty years of being a member.

At a later date a cheque will be presented from the Captain’s Charity to the Magpie Centre for Riding for the Disabled at Wallington Hall.
