Ryston Park Golf Club Course

The golf course was constructed in 1932, designed by James Braid. A nine hole course, every hole demands the greatest respect for the accomplished golfer. Many of the holes are shaped by superb mature trees which when in full leaf provide an additional challenge. There is also a number of water features on the course and some daunting shots to be played close to the out of bounds, so accuracy as well as good course management is essential.

Hole 1

Hole 1

A challenging first tee shot where finding the fairway is key. If you’re lucky enough to have a line to the green then your second shot requires enough club to clear the bunker just short of the green.

Hole 2

Hole 1

The second hole requires another accurate tee shot, a drive down the left will give you a good line in to the green, but beware of the fairway bunker. Your second shot then demands the greatest concentration with out of bounds all down the right side. A 5 is a good score here!

Hole 3

Hole 1

Club selection is key to this tee shot, with a ditch running across the fairway. A dog leg right means the ideal shot is down the left hand side of the fairway which should make for an ‘easier’ second shot.

Hole 4

Hole 1

A lengthy tee shot and well-guarded green make this a tricky par 3.

Hole 5

Hole 1

A par 5, so you can open your shoulders here. Your second shot then requires you to miss the two fairway bunkers strategically placed in the fairway. The green is the most difficult on the course, sloping severely from right to left. You’re always happy with a two putt here.

Hole 6

Hole 1

Another tough Par 4. A straight tee shot is required here with the pond waiting to catch any ball leaking to the right. The green is protected by two bunkers and has many hidden undulations

Hole 7

Hole 1

This is the hole you will most remember, a par 3 over a large pond with a large oak tree on the left and three greenside bunkers. Enjoy!

Hole 8

Hole 1

A dog leg left par 4 where accuracy off the tee is vital. There is out of bounds down the right and thick rough on the left. The tricky to read green is surrounded by three greenside bunkers.

Hole 9

Hole 1

A straight drive over the brow of the hill, leads down to the green which is protected by three bunkers. Clubbing is key here in the summer.
