The Suffolk Winter Alliance has been a golfing institution for over
40 years. It was formed to promote winter golf amongst Suffolk golf club
members, both amateur and professional.
Membership is open to members of Suffolk Golf Clubs. To become a
member players must be aged over 18 years and play off a handicap of 19 or
less.
The meetings are played over 18 holes in a four ball better ball
competition, using the Stableford points system. In tandem with the Stableford
competition, professionals compete with each other in a stroke play competition
at each of the meetings.
There is also an annual junior meeting held at the end of the season
which gives the golfers of tomorrow a chance to experience the enjoyment
of playing in the Winter Alliance.
Membership Cards are now available (at £10.00 each) for the
coming Winter Golfing Season 2006/2007 from your Golf Club Secretary or
Professional.
