Competition Rules

 

MATCHPLAY COMPETITIONS

  1. Each round must be played on or before the ‘play by’ date
  2. Failure to play within the allotted time may lead to disqualification of one or both player/teams at the Competition Committee’s discretion.
  3. The top named player/team in each round are responsible for contacting the opposition and presenting them with at least two possible dates for the match to be played. Should 5 Day members wish to enter matchplay competitions they should be mindful that they may have no alternative other than to arrange the match for a weekend date in which case a green fee may be payable.
  4. In the event that one partner in a ‘team’ competition is unable to play, for whatever reason, a substitute may be found to make up a pairing provided that play has not commenced in the competition. If play has commenced then the remaining partner will be withdrawn and the opponents will receive a walkover.
  5. Other individual rules and handicap limits may apply to each competition.
  6. In the event of any dispute the Competition Committee’s decision shall be final.

INDIVIDUAL MEDAL, STABLEFORD COMPETITIONS.

  1. To be played from ‘competition tees’ in 2 or 3 balls only
  2. Full handicap allowance unless otherwise stated
  3. Entry will be via a start sheet or by booking a tee time.
  4. The competition book must be signed and entry fee paid prior to play commencing.
  5. If a player wishes to withdraw from a competition having already stated his intent to play he should notify his playing partners so that they may make alternative arrangements. Failure to do so may result in suspension from play in the 3 subsequent qualifying competitions.
  6. Failure to tee off at the allotted tee time will result in disqualification from the competition under Rule 6-3 of the Rules of Golf and suspension from play in the 3 subsequent qualifying competitions.
  7. Players wishing to enter the Club Championship should have played in a minimum of 5 qualifying competitions in the preceding 12 month period. In addition all other ‘Honours Board’ competitions will require the player to have played in 3 qualifying competitions in the preceding 12 month period.
  8. Other individual rules and handicap limits may apply to each competition.
  9. In the event of any dispute the Competition Committee’s decision shall be final.
Players entering Club Competitions do so in accordance with the above rules. Any breach of these rules may result in disqualification.
