Hole By Hole
Hole 1:
A tough opening dogleg requiring a good drive aimed just left of the fairway bunker. Stay away from the trouble on the left and always take plenty of club for the approach shot as this can often appear deceptively short.
Hole 2:
A short par 5 with a narrow drive. Watch out for the blind fairway bunker to the right when teeing off. A good tee shot will be rewarded with the possibility of going for the green in two shots. But be warned, a large two tier green makes it tricky to complete the hole. A rose between two thorns.
Hole 3:
Another tough par 4 with Out Of Bounds lining the right side of the hole. Thread a good drive between this and the two left hand bunkers and you have set yourself up for a nice approach shot into the green. A hanging lie makes the approach shot a little awkward but the big green provides a nice target.

Hole 4:
A pretty but challenging par 3 from an elevated tee to a green that slopes slightly away from you. Aim between the two bunkers for the centre of the green. Avoid the Lateral Water Hazard to the left of the green.

Hole 5:
Our signature hole which can often prove to be a bit of a ‘card wrecker’. Aim for the larger fairway to the left and swing with confidence. If you manage to avoid the three ditches running down the hole you’ve done well. The approach shot has its own dangers. Take plenty of club as the green is wider at the back. A good hole.

Hole 6:
For the long hitters this is one to attack. A par 5 winding slightly down hill. Aim just left of the two large fairway bunkers for the perfect drive. The green is well protected with a pond in front and a ditch just behind. Sometimes better to lay up short and attack with your favourite wedge.
Hole 7:
This ones a bit of a monster. Our stroke index 1 is a long par 4, uphill all the way. A good drive aimed straight towards the fairway bunker sets you up well. The approach shot needs to be toward the left half of the green but be warned the green has a lot of subtle borrows.
Hole 8:
Don’t be fooled by this short par 4. A cautious tee shot played up short of the water hazard is the safest option from the tee. This will leave between 100 and 150 yards to the green. The second shot needs to be threaded between the two large trees, and once again the green deserves a lot of respect. For the longer hitter there is always the temptation to drive the green but this can often end in disaster. The choice is yours!

Hole 9:
A tough par 3 to a very long green measuring some 57 yards from front to back. Club selection is very important here. Two large bunkers guard the front of the green and a stray shot to the left could end up Out Of Bounds. Be careful on this one.

Hole 10:
A short par 4 and a chance to ‘get one back’. Drive the ball as close to the pond as you dare leaving yourself a short approach to the green. Once again this can be very tempting for the longer hitter to go for the green in one.
Hole 11:
Another tough par 3 which generally plays into the wind. Take plenty of club and avoid the greenside bunker to the left.
Hole 12:
A good par 4, slight dog leg which moves slightly down hill. Aim your ball just right of the fairway bunker keeping you away from the water hazard on the right. The ditch running across the fairway should not come into play but be cautious never the less. A large green protected by two bunkers makes this a great par 4.
Hole 13:
A nice par 3 from a slightly elevated tee. The green is narrow at the front and wide at the back. Two bunkers protect the front of the green so sometimes its better to take more club and go for the back part of the green.

Hole 14:
A long par 4 with a water hazard lining the left side of the hole. A good drive aimed just left of the fairway bunker will give you the perfect line in. The approach shot is tricky as the greenside bunker protects the right side of the green and a water hazard awaits the pulled shot.

Hole 15:
A pretty par 5 which dog legs its way between young trees on the right and Out of Bounds on the left. A good drive should be aimed just left of the fairway bunker. The bigger hitters may contemplate reaching the green in two although this does have its problems. A pond protects the front of the green and demands a good carry to hit the green. Once again the sensible option is often to lay up short of the pond and hit your favourite wedge in to the huge green that awaits.

Hole 16:
This short par 4 moves slightly uphill and doglegs around to the left. A good drive here would be to follow the centre of the fairway leaving yourself a nice angle into the green. Three bunkers sit in wait for an underhit approach shot and can cause many problems.

Hole 17:
Its back down the hill for another short par 4. Two fairway bunkers cross the fairway making it awkward to judge the distance when approaching the green. The green itself slopes towards you and provides a nice target to hit in to. Hit enough club and the ball will stop nicely.
Hole 18:
A great finishing hole. This excellent par 5 winds its way up the hill and back to the clubhouse. Aim to hit your tee shot down the right half of the fairway as this will offer you the best angle into the green. But beware of the fairway trap situated on the right side of the fairway. If you cant reach the green in two aim your second shot towards the two Oak trees and you will set yourself up nicely to hit this well protected green. Now you’re home and dry.
