About Us

The Norfolk Golfers' Alliance was formed in 1954 to provide local Professionals, their Assistants and male amateurs with the opportunity of playing competitive golf during the winter months.

There are 10 meetings from September to March. The last meeting is the Championship.
A new member can join with a current playing handicap index of 28 or less, but the maximum number of strokes they can receive is 18

Format of competitions is four ball better ball stableford. In tandem the professionals compete with each other in a stroke play competition.

The format of the Christmas meeting is a Guildford Greensomes. The Championship is singles strokeplay medal. To compete in the Championship amateurs must have competed in three meetings in the current season and Professionals must compete in four.

Entry fee to all competitions is £45. This includes coffee on arrival and a one course meal after play. Also included in the entry fee is a ball sweep.

The prizes are in the form of vouchers which can be used in the shops of the Professionals who are members of the Alliance The value is calculated on the basis of the number of competitors entering for each meeting. Professionals receive cash. 

Dress code has recently been changed to optional. However we do ask that members respect the dress code of the club they are playing and if they do not wish to change into jacket and tie they present themselves in a smart casual manner.
