Tim Cooper is the Club Professional at Newton Green Golf Club.
Tim became Club Professional in 1992 to be there for the opening of the new ten holes making Newton Green into a testing 18 hole golf course.
Tim started golf at the age of 14 and joined the Junior section at Stoke By Nayland Golf Club and by the age of 17 achieved a handicap of 3.
Tim was a Qualified PGA Professional at the age of 20 after passing his PGA exams and continued working as Head Assistant with Kevin Lovelock at Stoke By Nayland. During his time at Stoke Tim helped out at Newton Green Golf Club a couple of days a week and then joined the club full time in 1992. Then in 1997 took over the golf shop business and became the full Club Professional at Newton Green Golf Club.
Tim has played regularly in the Suffolk and East Region tournaments during his time as Professional. Tim won the Suffolk Assistants winter league in 1992 and his biggest highlight was becoming the SUFFOLK PGA CHAMPION in 1996 winning the championship at Hintlesham Hall Golf Club and with over 25 other wins in Pro-Am and Alliance events has become a very consistent player in the region.

Newton Green Golf Club's junior academy is a golf foundation and sport england golf centre and has now been selected as a county Junior centre with Tim Cooper, Shane Warren (Bramford Golf Club) and Ollie Rush (Haverhill Golf Club) working together on the new county iniative. Tim also uses the Tri-Golf coaching pack which enables him to teach at local Primary schools providing the kids with a chance to learn golf at school.
