Competition results and up to date news will be posted on these pages on a regular basis, with a calendar of forthcoming events and a wide range of other topics for the purpose of serving members and visitors.

The club aims to serve its members and visitors in as professional manner as possible, with its golf coaching and club house services available to all comers.

 

Our club professional Tim Cooper, operating from his own shop beside the club house, will care for golfers of all standards.

The club catering team, headed by Phil Newton (Yes, that’s his real surname!), is an experienced chef who can provide meals most of the day, as well as catering for private bookings of the club’s facilities, which can support a wide range of functions from funeral wakes to more light hearted events and commercial occasions.

 

A number of organisations, including the Sudbury Talbot Rotary Club, use our facilities for regular meetings.

 

The club also has its own strong social side, ranging from an annual dinner dance to such things as race nights, quizzes and bridge.

 

There is also a strong social aspect to golfing activities, and a large number of members support the annual golf festival staged in August.
During the year there are other mixed golfing competitions of both a serious and light-hearted nature, while friendly matches are played against nearby clubs by the ladies, gents and senior sections.
In recent years the club has built a formidable reputation as one of the best in Suffolk for nurturing juniors, and its annual junior open is the biggest in the county.

 

It is one of three centres in the county for a new junior coaching scheme sponsored by the Suffolk Golf Partnership.

 

The club has also adopted a special Recruitment and Retention Policy which, along with several other membership-friendly initiatives, has resulted in commendation from the English Golf Union.
