New Year’s Eve Dance

Kings Lynn Golf Club’s traditional New Year’s Eve Dance was once again a riotous success, with some senior members, as the evening progressed, attempting dance routines not generally seen, or indeed advised!

Mens Dinner 2011

Tim Arthur’s popularity as the 2011 Captain of Kings Lynn Golf Club was proven by the
sell-out attendance at the The Club’s annual Men’s Dinner.

Willie Thorne of Snooker fame was a most humorous and humble guest speaker. Willie
is a frequent visitor to the club and rates the course amongst the best he has ever played.

During proceedings, Willie presented a signed copy of his latest book to Head Chef Mark whose
birthday it just happened to be.

Vice Captain Derek Stringer also announced that Mr Mike Sackree would be his Vice Captain
for 2012...a very popular choice with all present!

A night of good food, fun and laughter, concluded at 11.00 pm - a big thank you to all concerned in making it such.

PRESENTATION EVENING 22ND OCTOBER

King's Lynn Golf Club celebrated their numerous golfing champions at the annual Presentation Evening on Saturday, October the 22nd. It has been another great year for the Club, with Luke Johnson, Paul Reade and Ian Hardy winning the County Team Shield for the second year in a row. Luke also won the County Amateur title with a fantastic score of 6 under par for the four rounds.

(Tim Arthur – Club Captain, Luke Johnson – Club and County Champion)

While the County Team Shield was certainly the largest trophy of the night, it was by no means the only one - 14 Junior Trophies, 19 Ladies Trophies and 28 Mens Trophies. Each winner received a cup or shield, along with a beautifully engraved piece of crystal. Huge thanks go to Dawn for organising all the engraving and managing to accurately match up 61 Trophies with the correct 61 engraved pieces of crystal. But I guess after doing the job for 30 years, Dawn knows exactly what she's doing.

Among the Ladies, special mention must go to Juliet Fenton, who at the tender age of 14 has managed to win the Junior Girl Championship and become Ladies' Club Champion in the same year.

(Juliet Fenton – Ladies and Girls Champion, Tim Arthur – Club Captain, Aimee Rudd – Captains’ Salvers winner)

What a fantastic achievement and how wonderful to see our Juniors playing so well and enjoying themselves so much. Most Improved Girl for the year was Aimee Rudd and, for the boys,  Ben Reed had a great year, winning the John Pink Salver and the Dot Barrett Trophy.

(Tim Arthur – Club Captain, Paul Savage, Ramsden Cup Winner, Geoff Higgins Trophy Winner, Gold Medal Winner)

Special mention also to Paul Savage for winning the main knockout Trophy of the year - the Ramsden Cup - and the overall order of merit - the Geoff Higgins Trophy.Off his low handicap, this is a stunning double.

Over 100 people enjoyed a great Presentation evening with complimentary wine and a variety of food prepared and served by Andy, Maria and Mark. Congratulations to all 61 King's Lynn champions and thanks for making it such a special year at the Club."
