Members - Foxes

What is a fox?

All members of Grim's Dyke Golf Club with handicaps 9-19 may participate in any of the Foxes events & Inter-club matches.

Where do the foxes play?

We play 8 local clubs in Middlesex both home and away including: Ashford Manor, Ealing, Mill Hill, Pinner Hill, Stanmore, Sudbury, West Middlesex and Wyke Green. This is a great opportunity to test your skills in a variety of locations and playing conditions. The Foxes Information Board has a full fixture list of inter-club matches and events so please sign up!

When are the matches played?

The season begins in April and all members of Grim's Dyke Golf Club with the appropriate handicaps are welcome to play in any of the matches, either home or away or both. Matches are arranged both mid-week (2pm start) and at the weekend (Saturdays) to suit different members’ availability. We are always looking for new members to participate in the inter-club matches.

What format is used for matches?

The teams for these matches consist of 4 – 6 pairs playing the better ball match play format with the matches played in a competitive but extremely friendly manner.

The matches are followed by a light meal (Normally sandwiches and chips). No jacket is required. We normally get away by 8pm.

Other benefits

Playing is a great way to play other courses and to meet people from all walks of life. There are no green fees either home or away. Playing in the matches is also good practice for the Annual Middlesex Foxes Abrey Cup (knock-out) and Middlesex County Foxes Association Championships. Foxes are also eligible for the internal Foxes Archer Cup.

Please look in your diary and see whether you are able to take part in any of the matches or events and enter your name on the lists that will be posted on the Foxes Information Board.
