FELTWELL GOLF CLUB lies on the edge of the Fens on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders, near Mildenhall. Benefitting from fast draining soil the course is open all year round with no need for winter greens or tee boxes as well as offering an all-round Practice Area and Driving Range facility. This is supported by a ball dispenser outside and serviced by the purchase of tokens. Pre-purchase tokens for use outside of club hours. The Club is open to everyone and offers excellent value for money whether you are a member or a Green Fee player – you are always guaranteed a warm welcome and good golf.
The Club was originally opened in 1970 having been built on the RAF Thor Missile Site with membership being offered initially to RAF and USAF personnel before being offered to civilians and at that time was known as RAF Feltwell Golf Club. In 1975 the USAF terminated the lease of the land and the course was closed for a short time until six former members negotiated their own lease and formed the Feltwell (Anglo American) Golf Club. It wasn’t until 1983 that the name was finally changed to Feltwell Golf Club and in 1986 it became a Private Members Club. The Club has continued to grow over the intervening years and is now a course all our members can be proud of.
Feltwell is a full length 36 Par, 9 Hole Course with 18 Tee Boxes and outstanding Practice Facilities. Don’t be put off by it being a 9 Hole Course, many professionals use courses like ours for practice and it fits the busy lifestyles many of us have today enabling you to ‘grab’ 9 holes on your way home from work or before you collect the children from school. There is always TIME FOR 9. Our Junior Section is also going from strength to strength encouraging families to play together and support each other.
A new Clubhouse was built in 2002 enabling the Club to offer excellent catering facilities for members, societies and all types if social functions. Being a member is not necessary, everyone is welcome at FELTWELL GOLF CLUB.
