A series of medium and long-term objectives were established and included the removal of the concrete missile launch sites, the self-help renovation of derelict wooden buildings, vacated by the RAF in 1963, to provide basic clubhouse changing and social facilities, the employment of full-time professional staff and the upgrading of course machinery. These have been successfully implemented and, in conjunction with an ongoing programme of course improvements, have bought the Club to where it is today. A respected nine-hole course and a continuing ethos of maintaining affordable golf within the local community
