Welcome to the Seniors' Section of Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club. Open to male members aged 55 and over, we are a friendly group with many events taking place throughout the year details of which are displayed on the Seniors notice board on the right as you enter the mens changing rooms from the Club lobby. Between March and October each year we run a programme of inter-club matches, home and away, with other Clubs throughout the region. Only the cost of the post-match meal is charged and it is a wonderful opportunity to play many other Courses – so long as you volunteer for home matches as well!! – and to enjoy good company. In 2015 we will play a total of 42 matches, so if you put your name down you are almost certain to be selected for some fixtures. This is the major Club Trophy for Seniors. It consists of monthly Stablefords from October to April each of which counts as a "qualifying competition" for handicap purposes. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the day and the Bishop’s Chalice Trophy is awarded to the player with the best aggregate 4 monthly scores out of 7 possible. There are also good prizes down to 6th place to keep the interest alive!!!
In 2015 we will have the inaugural Seniors Championship, to be run in conjunction with the Club Championship in late July. The Senior Champion will be the player with the best gross score in the first round of the Club Championship and will receive a trophy. A second trophy will also be awarded to the Senior with the best net score.
These single round Club competitions are played on the same day in September each year.
