Tips from Neil and David who are both PGA Professionals

Hole 1 A testing dog-leg from an elevated tee. Well-guarded green with out of bounds left and water in front.
Hole 2 A long Par 3 uphill - make sure you take enough club. Bunker left and right.
Hole 3 Short Par 4 with a narrow entrance to testing green - water at rear.
Hole 4 A very picturesque Par 3 - water a dominant feature.
Hole 5 A very tight Par 5 - premium on an accurate drive. Don't take any risks.
Hole 6 A pretty Par 4 along the Deben River - keep right of the tee.
Hole 7 A dog-leg right with water protecting the green in front - don't go left.
Hole 8 A challenging par 3,slightly uphill. The golfer must negotiate through a variety of hazards. A stream in front of the tee box combines with a pond short of the green. However taking too much club brings the woods into play at the back of the green.
Hole 9 A right to left tee shot gives you the only chance of hitting the fairway on this dog-leg. There are established trees all down the left and right of the hole. A pond short of the green invariably causes the golfer to be long leaving a tricky chip shot back.
Hole 10 A deceptive Par 3 as the hedgerow down the left is closer to the green than it looks.
Hole 11 From an elevated tee the golfer has to decide how much of the left to right dog-leg he can cut off. Trees and rough down the right can ruin a good score.
Hole 12 A short Par 3 but guarded by deep bunkers both short and long of the elevated green.
Hole 13 Par 4 with out of bounds on the right and deep rough left. A string of bunkers down the middle of the fairway waiting to catch tee s
Hole 14 A tricky Par 3 with the oldest alder tree in the country coming into play off the tee.
Hole 15 Another picturesque Par 4 alongside the River Deben and out of bounds on the right of this dog-leg.
Hole 16 The pond 50 yards short of the green catches many tee shots. Emphasis on accuracy off the tee may result in a birdie or par.
Hole 17 Long Par 5 with the premium on an accurate tee shot aimed at the marker post in the centre of the fairway.
Hole 18 Although not long this hole features the most protected green on the course. Water comes into play both left and long of the green out of bounds. Left down the fairway can also ruin a good score.
