Burghley Park Golf Club came into being in 1890 and has since developed into one of the most pleasing and enjoyable parkland courses in the country. A par 70 for men and 73 for ladies, it offers many challenges but a very fair test for a range of handicap abilities.
David Salisbury, course manager, together with his team of greenkeepers, maintain a high standard of greenkeeping, which together with the excellent natural drainage of the fairways ensures the course remains in good condition all the year round.
If golf is only part of your pleasure then Stamford, one of the top ten towns as voted by the Sunday Times, is a thrill to visit, especially Burghley House, one of the most prestigious country houses in England, surrounded by parkland famous for the Burghley Horse Trials.
