Clu house was refurbished in 2010
The club is run by a voluntary workforce guided by the club committee, we prepare the course ourselves and its not unusal to see the Club and Lady Captains whipping the dew of the greens before a competition.

We have a old wooden pavillion clubhouse with a bar and function room, mens and ladies changing rooms. We do have social events at the
clubhouse including Presentation night, Summer disco and quiz nights
throughout the year, we are currently planning a New Years Eve party.

We play on a nine hole inland links type course with 9 casual mens tees, 18 competition mens tees and 9 ladies competition tees. Although we have no bunkers or water on the course we do have very small greens, lots of out of bounds and even more gorse, which many shots are played over!

The competition tees are par 68 with a sss 66. We do have an ex
Professional Golfer as a member, Syer Shulver and he holds the course
record of 65!!!

CAPTAINS DRIVE IN & January Medal - Saturday 8th January 2011
New captain New Winner

After lots of debate with Competition Organiser Willie White, Club Secretary Alan Ereira, incoming Captain James Cushing and the players that had braved the elements, it was decided to hold James Club Captain's Drive-in followed by the planned Monthly Medal Qualifying Competition.

James took to the 1st tee wielding an 8 iron....... with very blustery wins from behind the ball finished in the dip at a distance of 149yrds. Nearest guess in the sweepstake was Ben Debenham with 150yrds.

All the players struggled with the blustery and wet conditions with only two player's playing to par or better. In a creditable 3rd position Captain James Cushing 86-11-75, 2nd David Wells 81-13-68 and winning his first competition new Club member Scott Manthorpe 91-24-67.

Club Captain James Cushing thanked Willie and Sam for their hard work prior to the competition clearing the greens of water & Bert for the hot refreshments that were waiting on completion of the competition.

First Winner 2011

Sunday 2nd January saw the first competition of the New Year. A larger field then normal took part in the Stableford Competition to see Ladies Captain Sam Cooper's Drive-In. With heckling from the players around the tee Sam managed to hold concentration and clear the dip on the 1st to land just left of the green.

In a biting cold wind and an occasional rain and sleet shower the scores were up and down. The highlight of the day was a 'Hole in One' by Edd Bowles on the 10th using a 5 iron. Playing along side the Ladies Captain, and David Wells, the players walked round to the green with no ball in sight, Edd couldn't believe his luck when he checked the hole on the off chance.

Back in the Clubhouse Edd's news had travelled fast and all the players were very grateful for the 'hole in one' drink. The competition was also the first of the Sunday Order of Merit Competitions so players were keen to get a good start to the year.

3rd place went to Bob Janney 37pts, losing countback to Steve Driver also 37pts, and taking the honours with an exceptional score of 43pts and a handicap cut off 1.0 taking him down to 8.7 Edd Bowles.

Ladies Captain Sam Cooper thanked James and David for preparing the greens and Carmen for helping with the hot refreshments that followed.

Saturday 8th the Men's Captain James Cushing has his Drive-In followed by the Monthly Medal.
